Ingredients:

  • 1/3 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2 1/4 cups sifted flour
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 3/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2/3 cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla

Directions:

  1. Cut 1/3 cup butter into 3/4 cup flour, brown sugar and cinnamon till fine.
  2. Stir in walnuts.
  3. Sift 1 1/2 cups flour with baking powder, soda and salt.
  4. Cream 1/2 cup butter in bowl; add sugar and cream till light.
  5. Add eggs one at time, beating well; blend in vanilla.
  6. Add dry ingredients alternately wit sour cream to creamed mixture.
  7. Spread in 9x9-inch floured and greased pan. Sprinkle with walnut mixture. Bake at 325 for 50 minutes.
  8. When cool, split horizontally and fill with filling. Store in refrigerator.
  9. For the Buttercream filling: Combine flour, salt salt and milk in saucepan. Cook over low heat till thick, stirring constantly; cool.
  10. Cream butter and sugar. Add flour mixture and beat till fluffy.
