Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Place ingredients in bread machine in the order recommended by your machine.
  2. I use a 2 cup wet measure for my liquids. I add water, then honey then the OJ concentrate. Makes it easier and more accurate.
  3. I have tried various flour ratios to make three cups total flour. The photos are of a mistake where I used 1 c Bob's Red Mill whole wheat and thought I was using 2 c regular bread flouer. Instead it was Gold Medal whole wheat! Bread was incredibly good so I'll continue to make this mistake .
  4. Keep the salt and yeast separated. I put in half the flour, then the salt, then the rest of the flour. Make a well in the top for the yeast.
  5. I used the whole wheat setting in my Sunbeam bread machine.
  6. As always, check the bread ball during the first knead and add more liquid (only 1 t at a time - a little goes a long way) or flour (also 1 t at a time) as needed.
  7. I use an organic frozen orange juice - no additives like calcium, etc. I keep it in the freezer and nuke it just enough to get the liquid concentrate.
  8. Modify for high altitude if needed.
  9. This makes a 1 1/2 pound loaf.
