Ingredients:

  • 2 large cans of black beans; undrained
  • 1 package of diced ham (optional)
  • 1 large box of swanson's chicken broth or vegetable broth if making as vegetarian
  • 2 tbsp of diced garlic
  • 1 tbsp of cumin
  • 1 tsp of cayenne pepper

Directions:

  1. In your stock pot sautee onions, carrots, garlic and celery on medium low until almost cooked
  2. Add cumin and cayenne pepper, cook for about 1 minute
  3. Add broth
  4. Add 1 can of black beans
  5. Puree 1 can of black beans and add to soup
  6. Simmer on medium for about 30 minutes
  7. Skim the top if necessary before serving.
