Ingredients:

  • 2 cups raisins
  • 4 cups water
  • 1/2 cup crisco
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground cloves
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3 eggs

Directions:

  1. Bring raisins and water to a boil.
  2. Simmer for a few minutes.
  3. Let cool.
  4. Blend together Crisco and sugar.
  5. Add baking soda and spices.
  6. Beat in eggs.
  7. Add raisin mixture and flour alternately.
  8. Bake in 2 greased 9 loaf pans at 350 for 1 hour.
