Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs stew meat
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 4 cups water
  • 2 tsp garlic
  • 3/4 tsp pepper
  • 4 medium red potatoes
  • 3 small onions
  • 3 tbsp flour
  • 3 tbsp water

Directions:

  1. Place beef and flour in a plastic baggie, Shake.
  2. Pour oil into a large dutch oven, heat.
  3. Add beef cook until brown, stirring occasionally.
  4. Add water and next 4 ingredients.
  5. Bring to a boil.
  6. Cover.
  7. Reduce heat and simmer 2 hours or until beef is tender.
  8. Discard bay leaves.
  9. Cut carrots, celery, potatoes, onion, and bell pepper, add to stew.
  10. Cover and simmer 30 minutes, or until tender.
  11. Combine water and flour, stirring well.
  12. Pour into stew.
  13. Boil, stirring constantly till thick and bubbly.
