Banana Tea Bread

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 cup banana, mashed (3 medium)
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup nuts, chopped (walnuts usually)

Directions:

  1. Put sugar, margarine, & eggs in mixer.
  2. Beat well at medium speed.
  3. Add vanilla & bananas.
  4. Sift flour, soda, salt together.
  5. Add to first mixture and mix well.
  6. Add sour cream and mix.
  7. Fold in nuts.
  8. (To make it a dessert, you can also add some chocolate chips.).
  9. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  10. Pour into greased & floured 9 x 5 x 3 loaf pan.
  11. Bake for at least 1 hour and check with toothpick.
  12. Ice with powdered sugar dissolved in milk (if desired) when cool.
