Ingredients:

  • 1/3 cup shortening
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 3/4 cups flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Mix shortening and sugar.
  3. Add eggs and beat well until creamed.
  4. Mix flour, baking soda, salt, and baking powder together.
  5. Alternate adding dry ingredients, mashed bananas, and walnuts until well mixed.
  6. Pour batter into well greased 9 x 5 loaf pan and bake 50 minutes.
