Ingredients:

  • country blueberry buckle
  • 1/2 cup of shortening
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 cups of flour
  • 2 tsp of baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp of salt
  • 1/2 cup of milk
  • 2 cups of fresh blueberries (if fresh are unavailable
  • try the frozen ones from the grocer's freezer).
  • for the topping
  • 1/2 cup of sugar
  • 1/2 cup of flour
  • 1/2 tsp of cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup of soft butter

Directions:

  1. Cream the shortening and sugar together
  2. Add the egg and mix well.
  3. Sift 2 cups of flour, baking powder and salt together and add to creamed mixture alternating with the milk.
  4. Pour into well greased baking pan.
  5. * *ABOUT A 8X8 PAN WORKS BEST, BUT YOU
  6. COULD USE ANOTHER SIZE * *
  7. Sprinkle the blueberries over the batter.
  8. For the topping

  10. Combine the remaining ingredients and sprinkle over the blueberries. Bake at 350 degrees for
  11. 45-50 minutes
