Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 3/4 cups flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 3/4 cups skor english toffee bits
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  2. Beat butter, shortening and 1 cup sugar in a large bowl until fluffy.
  3. Add eggs; beat thoroughly.
  4. Stir together flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt; gradually add to butter mixture, beating until well blended.
  5. Stir in toffee bits.
  6. In a small bowl, mix 3 tablespoons sugar and the cinnamon together.
  7. Shape cookie dough into 1 1/4 inch balls, roll in sugar-cinnamon mixture.
  8. Set onto cookie sheet and bake 9 to 11 minutes or until lightly browned around the edges.
  9. Cool slightly then remove from cookie sheet.
