Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1/2 cup butter or 1/2 cup margarine
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 3/4 cups flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tsp cinnamon

Directions:

  1. Mix shortening, butter, sugar and eggs thoroughly.
  2. Add flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt.
  3. Shape in 1 inch balls.
  4. Roll into a mixture of 2 tbsp sugar and cinnamon.
  5. Place 2 apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
  6. Bake 8-10 minutes at 400 degrees.
