Thyme-Scented Green Beans with Smoked Almonds

Directions:

  1. Arrange green beans in a steamer basket over boiling water. Cover and steam 6 minutes or until crisp-tender.
  2. Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Stir in green beans, thyme, salt, and pepper; cook until thoroughly heated. Sprinkle beans with almonds.
  3. * 1 to 2 tablespoons chopped fresh thyme may be substituted for the dried thyme. 1 tablespoon chopped toasted almonds may be substituted for the smoked almonds.
  4. Note: Smoked almonds may be found in the snack section of the supermarket.
