Swiss Cheese & Parmesan Onion Soup

Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 325°.
  2. In heavy bottom pan, slowly brown onions, butter and sugar until onions are dark brown, 30 minutes. With wooden spoon, scrape brown off the bottom of the pan occasionally.
  3. Add flour and cook, stirring, for 2 or 3 minutes.
  4. Add wine and cook for 2-3 minutes more.
  5. Add beef stick; simmer partially covered for 1 hour.
  6. To serve, place crouton on top of each bowl of soup (6 bowls).
  7. Cover generously with Swiss cheese and sprinkle with the Parmesan.
  8. Bake covered, for 15 minutes then uncover, bake another 10 minutes.
  9. Serve warmed and enjoy!
