Sweet Onion, Apple and Bratwurst Chili

Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. In a large pot, cook bacon over medium until crisp. Crumble and set aside.
  2. Add brats to pot and cook until browned and crispy around edges.
  3. Add onion, apples, peppers and garlic. Cover and cook about 5 minutes, until veggies are soft.
  4. Sprinkle with brown sugar and cook until sugar is melted, stirring well.
  5. Add chickpeas, onion powder, garlic powder, salt and pepper. Cook, uncovered for about 10 minutes, stirring often.
  6. Remove from heat.
  7. Serve with shredded cheese and bacon bits.
