Ingredients:

  • 2 large containers of whole fresh mushrooms
  • 1 lb pork sausge

Directions:

  1. Buy large mushrooms with creamy white to light brown caps, closed around the stem. If slightly open, gills should be light pink or tan. Mushrooms are grown under such clean conditions that they require little washing.
  2. Remove stems, but do not peel.
  3. Form sausage into tiny meatballs and fill mushroom caps.
  4. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
  5. Sprinkle lightly with grated cheddar cheese.
  6. Bake in preheated 350 degree oven 30 minutes or until sausage is brown and throughly cooked and cheese is melted.
  7. Serve on toothpicks if desired.
