Spiced Applesauce Bread

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/4 cups applesauce
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup cooking oil
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 tbsp milk
  • 2 cups all purpose flour (sifted)
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp allspice
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon

Directions:

  1. In Mixing Bowl, thoroughly combine Applesauce, Sugar, Oil, Eggs,
  2. And Milk. Sift together Flour, Soda, Baking Powder, the first
  3. 1/2 teaspoon of Cinnamon, the Salt, Nutmeg, and Allspice.
  4. Stir into Applesauce Mixture; Beat Well. Fold in 1/2 Cup Pecans;
  5. Turn into a Well Greased 9x5x3 inch Loaf Pan. Combine the 1/4
  6. Cup Pecans, the Brown Sugar, and the remaining 1/2 teaspoon
  7. Cinnamon; Sprinkle over Batter. Bake 350 for 1 Hour or until
  8. Done. Remove from Pan; Cool on Rack.
