Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup butter (judges 5:25)
  • 3/4 cup molasses ( jeremiah 6:20)
  • 2 cups flour (1 kings 4:22)
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda ( amos 4:5)
  • dash of salt ((leviticus 2:13)
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp cloves (ll chronicles 9:9)
  • 1/8 tsp ginger
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk (judges 4:19)
  • 1/3 cup honey (1 samuel 14:25)
  • 1 cup raisins (1 samuel 30:12)
  • 1 cup chopped dried figs (nahum 3:12)
  • 1/2 cup chopped almonds ( numbers 17:8
  • 1/2 cup wine (proverbs 31:6)

Directions:

  1. In large mixing bowl cream butter and till light
  2. Blend in molassed
  3. Stir together flour,baking soda,salt,spices
  4. Mix egg,buttermilk and honey
  5. Add egg mixture and flour misture alternately to creamed mixture
  6. Mix well
  7. Stir in raisins,figs and almonds
  8. Turn mixture into greased and floured 9x5x3 Inch loaf pan
  9. Bake at 325 degrees for 40 minutes
  10. Loosely cover with foil and bake 50 minutes more
  11. Let cool in pan 10 minutes
  12. Remove from pan
  13. Cool on rack
  14. Brush all sides with wine
  15. Wrap in plastic wrap
  16. Store 1 to 2 days in Refrigerator,before serving.
