Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup shortening
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 4 tbsp molasses
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp ginger

Directions:

  1. Cream shortening and sugar.
  2. Mix in other ingredients thoroughly in order listed.
  3. Roll into balls and roll in sugar.
  4. Press down balls with decorative glass bottom or fork.
  5. Bake at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for 7 minutes.
