Rose Water Sugar Cookies

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 stick butter or margarine
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 tsp lemon extract
  • 1 1/2 tsp rose water extract
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 3 cups flour
  • dash salt

Directions:

  1. Cream sugar and butter well.
  2. Beat in yolk and extracts to blend.
  3. Mix baking soda into sour cream and mix well with other ingredients. and flour
  4. Mix with a spoon by hand to mix well
  5. The dough is beautiful to handle.
  6. Roll out dough on lightly floured surface and cut out your cookies as you would for sugar cookies
  7. Place on baking sheets a few inches apart
  8. Bake 325 about 20 minutes or just slightly pale brown.
  9. Cookies should be set and cooked.
  10. Do not over bake
  11. Cool on rack
  12. These should have a soft texture and mellow flavor
