Ingredients:

  • 1 cup shortening
  • 2 -1/2 cups flour
  • 4 cups diced apples
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp baking soda , dissolved in 1/4 cup hot water
  • 1/2 cups nuts

Directions:

  1. MIX ALL -INGREDIENTS EXCEPT FLOUR AND APPLES.......
  2. NOW ADD FLOUR AND MIX WELL
  3. THEN ADD APPLES LAST AND MIX UNTIL WELL BLENDED
  4. BAKE AT 350 DEGREES FOR 45 MINUTES IN AN GREASED AND FLOURED -13 X 9 BAKING PAN
