Pepperseed Thin Bread

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 tsp fennel seed
  • 1/2 tsp anise seed
  • 2 1/4 cups flour
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup oil

Directions:

  1. Bruise fennel and anise in mortar and pestle or with rolling pin.
  2. Mix with flour, sugar, baking powder, and pepper in large bowl.
  3. Make well in center, add water and oil.
  4. Gradually draw flour in until all in incorporated.
  5. Knead dough on lightly floured surface until it forms a smooth ball.
  6. Cover with plastic and let rest for 15 minutes.
  7. Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
  8. Divide dough into 10 pieces.
  9. Roll each piece into an 8-inch ground.
  10. Place on a greased baking sheet.
  11. Bake until light brown- about 8 minutes, and cool.
