Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Thaw puff pastry according to instructions.
  2. Meanwhile, prepare the farce:
  3. Finely chop the onions (shallots)
  4. Melt butter in a skillet and saute onions until very soft and translucent
  5. Mix the onions, sausage, pine nuts, finely chopped herbs of your choice until smooth and creamy.
  6. Heat the oven to 350F
  7. Cut puff pastry into strips about 4 inch wide. Roll them out lengthwise with a rolling pin as long as they would allow you.
  8. Arrange a strip of farce in the middle of the pastry, about 1 inch thick.
  9. Whisk the egg and brush along the pastry edges.
  10. Roll the pasty up around the sausage stuffing, place seam down on a board.
  11. Brush the egg over the roll and sprinkle it liberally with seeds.
  12. Cut into 1-1/4 inch bites with a sharp knife. Place on an un-greased baking sheet 1 inch apart and bake for 15 minutes, or until very pleasantly golden-brown (see photo for your reference)
  13. Serve warm.
