Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Grind the flax seed in a grinder or food processor. Or use flaxseed meal
  2. Add to a large bowl with oat bran, wheat bran, whole wheat flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
  3. Add cranberries and raisins.
  4. Add chopped dates and walnuts at this time, if desired.
  5. Set aside.
  6. Combine remaining ingredients in a blender (leave skin on oranges).
  7. Blend on high until mix is smooth then add to bowl of dry ingredients.
  8. Stir until dry ingredients are just moist.
  9. Be careful not to over-mix.
  10. Pour batter into 18 to 24 muffin tin cups sprayed with nonstick cooking spray filling to the top of each cup.
  11. Bake for about 30 to 45 minutes , 350F or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
  12. Cool in tins for 5 minutes, then turn out onto racks to cool.
