Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  2. Generously grease 9x13 pan.
  3. Cream 1 cup butter with sugar in a large bowl.
  4. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  5. Mix in oats, flour, vanilla, baking soda and salt.
  6. Stir in 1 cup walnuts and set aside.
  7. Combine milk and chocolate in top of double boiler set over hot water and stir until chocolate melts.
  8. Add remaining ingredients and blend well.
  9. Spoon 2/3 of the oat mixture into prepared pan, compacting with a fork. Spread chocolate mixture over top.
  10. Crumble remaining oat mixture and chocolate and spread with a fork.
  11. Bake until golden, 25 to 30 minutes.
  12. Cool.
  13. Cut into 2 inch bars.
