Directions:

  1. In large bowl, combine flour, cinnamon, brown sugar, baking powder
  2. Divide butter into pieces and scatter on top of flour
  3. Work pieces into flour with pastry cutter, knives, or fingertips until pieces are size of peas
  4. Mash enough sweet potatoes to measure 3/4 cup
  5. Add, stirring only to moisten flour and hold dough together
  6. Turn dough onto lightly floured surface
  7. Knead gently 2 to 3 strokes
  8. Using a light touch, pat* or roll to about 1/2 inch thickness
  9. *I like to pat out to 1/2 inch thickness
  10. Cut biscuits using a floured 2 inch cutter, leaving as little dough between cuts as possible
  11. Gather remaining dough, pat out again, cut
  12. Place biscuits on baking pan, sides touching for soft southern style biscuits
  13. If crisp biscuits are prefered, place close together, but not touching
  14. Bake in a 400 degree oven for about 10 to 12 minutes or until tops are browned
  15. Serve hot with FRESH ORANGE HONEY BUTTER
  16. For this delicious butter, mix orange peel, butter, and honey together until smooth
