Grease loaf pans, 2 large or 4 small. Combine the first 5 ingredients, beat at medium speed with an electric mixer until blended. Stir in pecans and poppy seeds. Put in loaf pans. Bake at 325F for 40 minutes.
Mix together 1/2 cup lemon juice and 2 tablespoons sugar until sugar is dissolved. While loaves are hot, pour lemon/sugar combination over each one equally.
