Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups (375 ml) all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup (250 ml) sugar
  • 3 tbsp (45 ml) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tbsp (15 ml) baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp (2 ml) salt
  • step 2
  • 3/4 cup (180 ml) milk
  • 3 tbsp (45 ml) butter, melted
  • 1 tsp (5 ml) vanilla extract
  • step 3
  • 3/4 cup (180 ml) brown sugar , packed
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) sugar
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp (5 ml) vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp (1 ml) salt
  • 1 1/2 cups (375 ml) boiling water

Directions:

  1. Combine the ingredients from step 1 in the slow cooker.
  2. Stir in the ingredients in step 2 until blended.
  3. Combine the ingredients from step 3 except for the water in a separate bowl and sprinkle over the mixture in the slow cooker - do not stir.
  4. Pour the boiling water over the top - do not stir.
  5. Cook covered on low heat for 3 hours.
  6. Serves 6 to 8.
