Ingredients:

  1. In a large bowl, cream shortening and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs, orange juice and extract. Combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt; gradually add to creamed mixture and mix well. Stir in the candied fruit, raisins and pecans.
  2. Drop by teaspoonfuls 2 in. apart onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake at 350° for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown. Remove to wire racks. Store in an airtight container. Yield: 9 dozen.
