Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Mix first six ingredients
  2. Mix in crystalized ginger.
  3. Beat brown sugar, shortening, and butter in large bowl until fluffy.
  4. Add egg and molasses and beat until blended.
  5. Add flour mixture until just blended then cover and cool for one hour.
  6. Heat oven to 350 and roll in 1 1/4 inch balls and roll in sugar.
  7. Bake until cracked for 12 minutes.
