Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 3 1/2 tbsp heavy cream
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon (or to taste)
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 1/2 tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1 1/2 tbsp baking powder
  • 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 12 slices of bread

Directions:

  1. Cinnamon Sauce
  2. In a small saucepan melt the butter. When the butter is melted add the brown sugar, cinnamon, 2 1/2 tbs cream and salt. Stir continuously until it comes to a simmer. Once it comes to a simmer turn the stove off and add the rest of the cream and the flour. Mix well. Cover and set aside until ready to serve.
  3. French Toast
  4. In a med size bowl, mix eggs, sugar, salt, vanilla and milk until it's well blended. Mix the flour and baking powder together and then slowly add to wet mix, until smooth. Heat up a pan with about 1/4 vegetable oil in it (depends on the size of your pan). Dip bread into batter, let the excess drip off. Once the pan is hot, fry the bread until it's golden brown on both sides. Drain on a paper towel. Plate and pour on the cinnamon sauce. Enjoy!
