French Onion Salisbury Steak And Cheese Toast

Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. To make steak:
  2. Combine chuck, parsley, scallion, salt & pepper.
  3. Divide evenly into 4 portions and shape into 3/4-1 thick oval patteis
  4. Place 2 tbsp flour in shallow bowl
  5. Dredge each patty in flour
  6. Reserve 1 tbsp flour
  7. Heat olive oil in saute pan over medium high heat
  8. Add patties and saute 3 minutes on each side or until browned
  9. Remove from pan
  10. Add onions & mushrooms with sugar in pan; saute 5 minutes
  11. Stir in garlic & tomato paste and saute 1 minute or until paste begins to brown
  12. Sprinkle onion mixture with reserved flour; cook 1 minutu
  13. Stir in broth and wine
  14. Add salt and thyme
  15. Return meat to pan and bring to boil
  16. Reduce heat to low and cover
  17. Simmer 10-15 minutes
  18. Cheese Toasts:
  19. Combine butter & garlic with paprika on one side of each piece of bread
  20. Combine the cheeses and sprinkle over bread
  21. Bake at 400 till crispy and cheese is bubbly (10-15 minutes)
  22. On plate
  23. Place a slice of bread, top with meat, onion mixture.
  24. Ladle soup mixture over meat
  25. Garnish with parsley & Parmesan Cheese
