Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs elk steaks
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 3 tsp butter
  • 1 (15 oz) can tomato sauce
  • 2 beef bouillon cubes , dissolved in 3 tsp water
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper

Directions:

  1. Cut elk steak in serving pieces.
  2. Sprinkle lightly with flour.
  3. Fry in hot butter, browning both sides.
  4. Put in a baking pan.
  5. Brown onions and mushrooms in same pan as the steak.
  6. Add to steak in baking pan.
  7. Combine remaining ingredients and pour over the steak.
  8. Cover and bake at 350F degrees for 1 1/2 hours.
