Ingredients:

  • 1/2 tbsp hot mustard
  • 6 thin slices cooked ham
  • 6 thin slices bread
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • oil

Directions:

  1. Combine cheese, mayonnaise and hot mustard. Cream well.
  2. Flatten bread and remove crusts. Spread creamed cheese thinly on each slice of bread. Add a slice of ham to each bread slice and top ham with remaining cheese mixture.
  3. Carefully roll bread slices and secure with 2 toothpicks, Cut in between toothpicks.
  4. Beat eggs with milk in shallow dish. Place flour and bread crumbs in shallow dishes.
  5. Roll pieces in flour, then into eggs, and then into crumbs. Allow pieces to dry for 10 minutes.
  6. Heat oil 2 deep at 375°F Fry individually about 2 minutes each or until golden. Drain on paper towels and sprinkle lightly with salt.
  7. Serve while still warm.
