Dark Chocolate Cake With Warm Glaze

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 3 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 lb margarine
  • 6 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 2 eggs
  • 2/3 cup buttermilk
  • 1/4 lb unsalted butter or 1/4 lb margarine
  • 6 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 2 fl oz milk

Directions:

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, baking soda, cinnamon and salt.
  2. Place the water, margarine and cocoa powder in a saucepan.
  3. Bring to a boil and then stir into the dry mixture.
  4. Add the eggs, buttermilk and vanilla.
  5. Stir all the ingredients together and then pour into an ungreased sheet pan and bake for 15 to 20 minutes at 400°F.
  6. The cake is done when it bounces back to the touch.
  7. -To Prepare The Glaze-.
  8. Melt the butter or margarine and cocoa together.
  9. Add the powdered sugar and milk.
  10. When the sugar is fully dissolved and the glaze is smooth, pour onto the warm cake and allow to cool.
  11. You will need to work quickly with this glaze because it will harden in a very short time.
