Creamed Potatoes With Peas

Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Cook potatoes in their skins until barely tender then drain and let dry.
  2. Peel and cut in 1/4 thick slices.
  3. Cook peas in boiling salted water until just tender then thoroughly drain.
  4. In large saucepan combine potatoes, cream and milk.
  5. Bring to a boil then reduce to simmer.
  6. Season with salt, pepper and nutmeg.
  7. Sprinkle in the sugar and stir gently being careful not to break up potatoes.
  8. Simmer 6 minutes.
  9. Add peas while potatoes and sauce are still simmering then cook for 1 minutes.
  10. Taste for seasoning.
