Ingredients:

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 cup nuts
  • 1 tsp clove
  • 3/4 cup coffee
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 2 cups flour

Directions:

  1. Cream shortening and sugar.
  2. Add beaten egg.
  3. Mix thoroughly.
  4. Sift Flour, measure and sift with baking soda, salt, baking powder and spices.
  5. Add Alternately with coffee to shortening/sugar mixture.
  6. Add raisins, nuts and flavoring.
  7. Mix thoroughly.
  8. Add additional flour if necessary to make a drop cookie dough.
  9. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto well oiled baking sheet.
  10. Make in moderate oven (400 degrees F.) about 15 minutes - 36 servings.
