Ingredients:

  • 2 cup. finely chopped apples
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 3/4 tsp ground cloves
  • 3/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Directions:

  1. Heat oven to 375.
  2. Cook apples, sugar, coffee, raisins, shortening, cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg over medium heat until apples are tender, about 10 min.
  3. Cool
  4. Stir in remaining ingredients.
  5. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls about 2 inched apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
  6. Bake until light brown
  7. Approx. 10 min
  8. Makes about 5 1/2 dozen
