Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg

Directions:

  1. Sift together 1 1/2 cups quick-cooking rolled oats, 1 cup raisins or mixed dried fruit bits, 1/4 cup packed brown sugar, 1/2 teaspon ground cinnamon, 1/4 teaspoon salt, and 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg. Store in an airtight container at room temperature.
  2. In a medium saucepan bring 3 cups water to boiling. Slowly add oat mixture to water, add to your desire of thickness~ stirring constantly. Serve with milk if desired.
  3. Serves 4.
  4. For 1 serving:
  5. Use 3/4 cup water and 2/3 cup oat mixture. Cook, stirring constantly for 1 minute. Cover, remove from heat. Let stand 1 to 3 minutes or till of desired consistency. Serve with milk, if desired.
