Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup shortening
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup m

Directions:

  1. Heat oven to 350.
  2. In large bowl, combine shortening, butter and sugar; beat until light and fluffy.
  3. Add vanilla and eggs; beat until smooth.
  4. Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup, level off.
  5. Add flour, cocoa, baking powder and salt; blend well.
  6. Stir in chocolate pieces.
  7. Drop dough by rounded teaspoonfuls 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheets.
  8. Bake at 350 for 8 to 9 minutes or until edges are set.
  9. DO NOT OVERBAKE.
  10. Cool 2 minutes.
  11. Remove from cookie sheets.
