Ingredients:

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup flour
  • 3/4 cup cocoa
  • 3/4 tsp baking powder
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla

Directions:

  1. For Brownies:.
  2. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  3. Grease an 8in square baking pan.
  4. In a large bowl, whisk together butter, sugar and vanilla.
  5. Whisk in eggs until well combined.
  6. In med bowl, stir together flour, cocoa, baking powder and salt.
  7. Gradually stir flour mixture into egg mixture until well combined.
  8. Spread into pan.
  9. Bake 35-40 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center come out clean but with crumbs attatched (brownie may sink in center).
  10. Do not overbake.
  11. Cool completely on wire rack.
  12. Frosting:.
  13. Meanwhile, melt chocolate, butter and water in a small saucepan over low heat, stirring occasionally.
  14. In a small bowl, stir together icing sugar and salt, stir into chocolate mixture.
  15. Stir in vanilla.
  16. Cool until frosting thickens slightly (about 30 minutes.).
  17. Spread frosting over cooled brownies.
