Chinese Sweet and Sour Pungent Barbque Sauce

Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1/2 cup onion, minced
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup catsup
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1/2 tsp ginger
  • 1 1/2 tsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp dry sherry or 2 tbsp water or 2 tbsp wine

Directions:

  1. Saute onion in oil until translucent.
  2. Add garlic stir until you can smell the garlic.
  3. Add all other ingredients EXCEPT sherry and corn starch.
  4. Simmer 15 minutes.
  5. Stir together corn starch and sherry.
  6. Add corn starch and sherry mix to other ingredients.
  7. Simmer until thick.
