Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Prep time does not in machine made or rising times
  2. Prepare in breadmaker for dough cycle or by hand.
  3. If making dough in machine,add the Swiss cheese at the beep .
  4. By hand:
  5. Heat milk and oil , cool to warm .
  6. Combine dry ingredients including yeast, sugar and grated cheese and salt.
  7. Mix together to form a dough, add Swiss cubes and until knead smooth and elastic.
  8. Place in a oiled bowl.
  9. Cover and let rise double.
  10. Gently deflate and cut in half.
  11. Form into to loaves for 8 inch loaf pans or one huge loaf in a large 10 inch loaf pan.
  12. Brush with milk and sprinkle on anise seeds, score loaf across top with point of sharp knife.
  13. Cover with damp tea towel and let rise double again.
  14. Bake 350, 30 minutes or puffed and golden. and done
  15. Best served warm .
  16. Freezes well.
  17. But please reheat for best flavor.
