Ingredients:

  • 4 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2 cups buttermilk

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F.
  2. Mix all the dry ingredients together. Cut in butter, blend with a fork until it's a bit like oatmeal.
  3. Add buttermilk last and blend only until mixed. Do not overwork the dough. Put dough on a floured surface, and press to about 2-inches thick. Cut into circles with a glass or cup of your choice.
  4. Keep in mind they almost double in height rising in the oven while baking.
  5. Bake in preheated oven for 10 minutes. Let cool on countertop and enjoy with your favorite jelly!
