Brown Lentil Soup (Sharbat Adas Buni)

Ingredients:

  • 1 large onion, diced
  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • 3 tbsp oil
  • 6 cups water

Directions:

  1. In pot sautee onion in oil.
  2. Add water and salt cover bring to a boil.
  3. Add lentils cover lower heat and allow to cook until lentils split about 15 -20Min's.
  4. When the lentils split or become soft with a hand blender puree the lentils with the cumin until soup is creamy.
  5. Return to heat for another 15 Min's.
  6. Serve with toasted pita bread and lemon juice.
