Broccoli-carrot Duo

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups carrot strips (2 inches x 1/2 inch)
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3 cups cut up broccoli (2 inch pieces, separate flowers from stalks)
  • 1/3 cup butter (2/3 stick)
  • 1 tsp dill weed
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

Directions:

  1. Combine carrot strips, water and 1/2 tsp salt in a heavy 10 inch skillet.
  2. Bring to a boil.
  3. Cover, reduce heat to medium and cook 5 minutes.
  4. Add broccoli stalks (no flowers yet) and cook 5 more minutes.
  5. Add broccoli flowers and cook 5-8 minutes until all vegetables are tender, or to your liking.
  6. Drain liquid from vegetables.
  7. Add rest of ingredients.
  8. Stir and leave on heat just until and butter is melted and everything is heated through.
  9. Serve hot.
