Ingredients:

  • 2 1/4 lbs bonito tuna , a single slice or 2 1/4 lbs tun a
  • 6 fl oz oil

Directions:

  1. Peel the onion and slice into fine rings.
  2. Wash the peppers, remove the stalk and seeds, and cut into thin strips.
  3. Heat the oil gently in an oven-safe pan and fry the onion and pepper, until tender and almost caramelized.
  4. Add salt to taste.
  5. Remove the skin and the bone from the center from the fish.
  6. Divide into two thick fillets, season and add to the onion and pepper mixture. Broil for one minute and serve.
  7. The bonito must be only just cooked to keep it moist.
