Betty's Sweet Potatoes

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 2 tbsp water

Directions:

  1. Wash and peel the potatoes.
  2. Cut them lengthwise into 1/4 slices.
  3. Melt butter in a heavy skillet, and add the potatoes.
  4. Sprinkle with the water, sugar, salt, and nutmeg.
  5. Cover and cook very slowly until tender.
