Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. In large saucepan or dutch oven, heat berries with cider, ginger and whole cinnamon sticks.
  2. Heat on medium heat at a low simmer, stirring occasionally, for about 20-25 minutes.
  3. Mixture should reduce by no more than 1/2.
  4. Remove cinnamon sticks and any larger pieces of the ginger if they aren't soft.
  5. Add vanilla.
  6. Using a stick blender, blend mixture well making sure no large bits are still present.
  7. If serving cold or room temp, strain mixture into serving pitcher.... I used a mesh strainer :), add sparkling water and give it a stir. Serve.
  8. If serving hot, add sparkling water, give it a stir, heat briefly THEN carefully strain into a pitcher to serve. ;)
