BASIC BUTTERCREAM FROSTING

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup unsalted butter (veg shortening when pure white is needed) room temp
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 2 lb confectioners' sugar

Directions:

  1. Mix at slow speed until smooth. If stiffer frosting is needed, cut back on milk. Makes 6 cups, enough to cover a 9-inch round two layer cake.
