Basic Applesauce

Ingredients:

  • 6 medium apples
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 pinch salt

Directions:

  1. Cut apples in quarters.
  2. Peel and core the apples.
  3. Put apples in a bowl of cold water.
  4. Cut apples into slices.
  5. Put them in a saucepan with the water and a tiny pinch of salt.
  6. Cover and simmer gently till apples are soft.
  7. Add sugar (depending on how sweet you want the sauce to be).
  8. Simmer well to melt sugar.
  9. Cook down sauce.
