Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1/8 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1 cup water
  • 3 cans (15-1/4 oz each) apricot halves ,drained
  • 1 tbsp butter or margarine
  • topping
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1-1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup milk

Directions:

  1. In a saucepan, combine sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon and nutmeg.
  2. Stir in water; bring to a boil over medium heat.
  3. Add apricots and butter; heat through.
  4. Pour into a greased 2-qt. baking dish.
  5. For topping, combine flour, sugar, baking powder and salt in a bowl; cut in butter until crumbly.
  6. Stir in milk just until moistened.
  7. Spoon over hot apricot mixture.
  8. Bake at 400 degrees for 30-35 minutes or until goledn brown and a toothpick inserted into the topping comes out clean.
  9. Yield: 6 servings.
